Charlotte Independence News Release
CHARLOTTE, NC - Queen City Soccer Club LLC today announced that DICK'S Sporting Goods has signed on as an official team sponsor of the Charlotte Independence through the 2016 season. This partnership will highlight the commitment both organizations have to youth sports and community service.
Elements of the agreement include stadium signage, print and digital advertisements, PA announcements, social media and hospitality. In addition, DICK'S Sporting Goods and the Independence will coordinate a special "Shop with a Pro" event to benefit a select group of underprivileged athletes in the Charlotte area. Event details will be announced at a later date.
"It can go without saying, but we are excited to welcome DICK'S Sporting Goods to the team," said Independence Chief Revenue Officer Wade Leaphart. "Partnering with an organization that makes a lasting impact in communities by supporting programs that inspire and enable sports participation is an honor. We want to build brand affinity between our fans and DICK'S, and look forward to a long-term, community-focused partnership."
DICK'S Sporting Goods is the eighth new sponsor the Independence has added since the start of the offseason. The club's 2016 season will kick off at Charlotte's Ramblewood Stadium on Saturday, March 26, with a 7:00pm match against Louisville City FC.
