Independence Call on Fans for Jersey Design

Charlotte (NC) - The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team is calling on Charlotte soccer fans to submit potential jersey designs themed around Military Appreciation Night presented by Famous Toastery. Five fan submissions will be picked by representatives of the Independence and Famous Toastery, and then put to a fan vote. The winning design will be worn by Independence players during the team's Military Appreciation Night presented by Famous Toastery during the 2020 season.

Jersey designs must be an original creation and will be accepted online via jersey contest submission form, until Friday, April 3rd. The contest winner will receive a designed jersey and two free tickets to Military Appreciation Night. Design formats are limited to .pdf, .jpg or .png file types and must be less than 100 MB in size.

Pre-order jersey purchases and auctioned game-worn, player jerseys will benefit a local, military organization or charity. In 2019, Independence fans raised over $3,000 in proceeds through the jersey auction which benefited the American Legion Post 235 in Matthews, North Carolina. Due to the USL's decision to suspend the 2020 Season amid health and safety precautions surrounding the CODIV-19 virus, Military Appreciation Night presented by Famous Toastery is scheduled for Saturday, July 4th, but may be subject to be moved to a later date.

At this time, the anticipated continuation to the suspended 2020 USL Championship season will begin after Sunday, May 10th. Additional information concerning the new league schedule and suspended play will be released as it is made available. Following the release of the 2020 USL Championship schedule, the Independence will announce a new theme night schedule including Military Appreciation Night and other promotional game nights.

Jerseys designs can be created with color pencil, marker, crayon, paint or other art supplies, and then uploaded to the submission form via photo. See below for an optional template. Similarly, submissions can be created via digital design.
