Amarillo Gorillas News Release

AMARILLO, TX – Registration for the Outback Steakhouse Junior Gorillas Ice Hockey League was a huge success on Saturday.

More than 120 children registered for youth ice hockey at Outback Steakhouse located on I-40 and Coulter. Many stayed around to play in the Gorillas blacktop hockey clinic and met players Dave Rattray, Eric Andersen, Henry Kuster and Ben Gustavson. Outback Steakhouse provided food samplers and beverages.

"We were overwhelmed with the turnout and response," said Director of Youth Ice Hockey Jason Desloover. "I think it is going to be an exciting year for youth ice hockey in Amarillo. I want to thank Aynsley Chomiski, the Gorillas staff and especially Paul and his staff at Outback Steakhouse."

There is still time to those who missed the registration day to sign-up by either calling Jason Desloover at 654-7095 or the Gorillas hockey office at 242-7825.

Registration is also still being accepted for the Gorillas Youth Ice Hockey School from September 22 to 26 at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. The cost is $95 for the camp which will be operated by Gorillas Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manager Joe Ferras, Assistant Coach Brian Pellerin as well as various other Gorillas players.

Forms can be picked up at the Gorillas hockey office, or on line at www.amarillogorillas.com

The Amarillo Gorillas are busy preparing for their second season in the Central Hockey League. The Gorillas will host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. Partial and full season ticket packages are available for the upcoming season, by calling 242-7825.
