Cullaton Joins Bucks Arsenal

(8/18/03) The Laredo Bucks have signed veteran right wing Brent Cullaton to a contract for the 2003-2004 Central Hockey League season. For the better part of five years, Cullaton has been one of the ECHL's top point producers with teams in Tallahassee, Columbus (GA), Florida and Peoria. His exploits in the ECHL followed a productive, 120-game stint in the International Hockey League with Kansas City and San Antonio. The 28-year-old Cullaton joins a Laredo team which led the CHL in offense last season.

Bucks Head Coach/General Manager Terry Ruskowski says, "Brent was a priority for our team. He's experienced, very talented, very fast and very team-oriented. I'm very happy and excited to have him on our roster for the upcoming season."

Last season, Cullaton led the Columbus Cottonmouths in scoring with 62 points. He played in all 72 games, posting 18 goals, 44 assists and 110 penalty minutes. He split the previous season between Frankfurt, Germany and Fort Worth in the CHL, where he registered 26 points in 26 games. Cullaton's highest point production came in 2000-2001 with Tallahassee, where he racked up 27 goals and 47 assists to lead the Tiger Sharks in scoring with 74 points. His best goal-scoring numbers came in 1999-2000, when he 30 goals in the ECHL with Florida and Tallahassee, added three goals and three assists in three AHL games with Hamilton, and added one goal in four games in London, England (BISL).

As a rookie in 1996-97, Cullaton scored 19 goals and added 14 assists in 67 games with the Kansas City Blades of the IHL. He split the next season between the Blades and the San Antonio Dragons, posting seven goals and 17 assists in 53 IHL games. In a brief, but brilliant stint with Peoria (ECHL), Cullaton produced eight goals and eight assists in seven games.
