Omaha Beef News Release
Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association held their first round of invite only try outs this weekend at the Center Sports Complex. Over 40 athletes attended the try out with several participants traveling in from as far away as Minnesota and Texas hoping to earn a training camp roster spot with the Beef.
"We were very pleased with the group as a whole and there were several individual performances that had the coaching staff quite impressed," stated Head Coach Robert Fuller. "We feel like we can enter training camp with a better football team then we finished with in 2005. We will be led by a group of outstanding veterans but we are going to have quite an influx of exciting rookies."
The Omaha Beef will sign roughly a dozen athletes from the invite only try out including several key performers on the offensive and defensive lines along with a handful of impressive defensive backs and linebackers. The Beef will hold the final try-out for the 2006 season on February 18th and 19th at the Center Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. The Beef will look to finalize their training camp roster immediately following this try out. The Omaha Beef organization would like to thank all of the fans that came out to support all of the Beef hopefuls along with the Travelodge hotel located on 72nd and Grover for their continued support of Beef football.
