Imperiali Organization acquires Miami ABA team

July 11, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Las Vegas, NV & Miami, FL. From the bright lights of Las Vegas, the Imperiali Organization announced that it has acquired the rights to operate a team in the greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market in the American Basketball Association (ABA). If all goes as planned, the team will be in action for the upcoming 2006-2007 season.

The Imperiali Organization currently is the majority owner of another ABA team, the Palm Beach Imperials. The Imperials, led by General Manager and Head Coach Lamar Carr, have established themselves as one of the premiere ABA organizations posting a 4-1 record during the summer exhibition season.

The Miami team, which has yet to be named, will bring a level of exciting basketball that fans have not experienced from other efforts. Previously, the Florida Pit Bulls fielded a team in the ABA but are no longer playing in the league. The Imperiali Organization believes that Miami/South Beach is a great market for ABA basketball with the proper venue and fan-friendly and affordable ticket prices.

"With the Miami Heat winning the NBA championship, we feel this is the city to be in for great basketball," Dan Mangru of Imperiali said. "We are very excited to be a part of the Miami market and we feel sure that this will be a big plus for basketball fans in the South Florida area. Last year's team was not representative of the ABA's goal of providing exciting, fast-paced professional basketball and entertainment at affordable prices. Our team will not make the same mistakes. And we will be very community oriented - another vital element in the ABA mix."

Joe Newman, ABA CEO, added, "The Imperiali Organization hopes its new acquisition can keep Miami in the news in the basketball world and build a solid tradition of fan-friendly, affordable ABA basketball in the South Florida area. We are confident they can based on what we've seen in Palm Beach."

The Imperiali Organization (www.imperiali.org), founded by Daniel Imperato, is a global development company with diversified assets and holdings, connecting the leaders of tomorrow, today. Currently the organization has taken interest in both owned and operated businesses in the areas of internet search (www.i1search.com), public relations (www.i1connect.com), merchandising, publishing, film (www.theredworm.net) and sports (www.palmbeachimperials.com) as well as other non-affiliated companies.
