Impact Opens Training Camp on January 26

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday the details regarding its 2016 training camp that will kick off on January 26.

Following medical and physical testing, the team will take part in its first training session at Olympic Stadium on January 26, before flying to Orlando, Florida, to train until February 5.

The team will then be back at Olympic Stadium from February 7 to 14, before leaving again, but this time for the west coast of Florida, from February 15 to 28.

During the camp, the Impact will play exhibition games against teams from Major League Soccer and the North American Soccer League.

The club's technical staff will also spend a few days in Florida, from January 7 to 12, in order to evaluate prospects at the MLS Combine. The MLS SuperDraft will then be held on January 14, in Baltimore. The Impact holds the 14th selection in the first round as well as three picks in the second round.

The Impact will play its 2016 home opener on Saturday, March 12, at Olympic Stadium in Montreal (time TBD), against last season's Supporters Shield winning New York Red Bulls. The preceding Sunday, on March 6, the Impact will play its season opener against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, at BC Place in Vancouver, at 5:30pm ET (RDS, TSN). The complete schedule will be unveiled on Thursday.
