
Illinois Natives Sign with IceHogs

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League Affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Zach Miskovic and forward Ryan Schnell on AHL contracts for the 2014-15 season.
Miskovic, 29, returns to Rockford after appearing in 15 games for the IceHogs in 2013-14, registering seven assists and 10 penalty minutes. The River Forest, Ill. native began the 2013-14 campaign with the San Antonio Rampage, recording two assists in 10 games, before being acquired by the IceHogs. The 29-year-old finished the season with the Iowa Wild after being a part of a trade that brought defenseman Brian Connelly back to Rockford.
Overall, Miskovic has notched 20 goals and 51 assists in 238 career AHL games with the Chicago Wolves, Hershey Bears, Iowa Wild, Rockford IceHogs and San Antonio Rampage.
Schnell, 25, was a member of the AHL's 2013-14 Eastern Conference Champion St. John's IceCaps. The Cary, Ill. native racked up 120 penalty minutes and tallied a goal in 39 regular season games for the IceCaps last season.
The 25-year-old has skated in 84 career AHL games between St. John's and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and has recorded four points (3g-1a) and 260 penalty minutes. Schnell has also appeared in 126 career ECHL games with the Wheeling Nailers and Colorado Eagles.
