
Ignite Drops Series to Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, SD - NBA G League Ignite (0-4) fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (4-0), 126-103, on Tuesday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Ignite was led by Izan Almansa, who recorded a career-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field with five rebounds. Ron Holland followed with 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Jeremy Pargo led the bench in scoring after posting 16 points and three assists, while John Jenkins added 15 points and four steals.
Justin Champagnie paced the Skyforce after posting a game-high 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field, including 5-of-10 from behind the arc while adding six rebounds, six assists and six steals. Alondes Williams posted 24 points and three rebounds, while Malik Williams finished with 18 points and eight rebounds.
Ignite fell behind quickly in the opening minutes of the game after five out of the Skyforce's seven made baskets came from behind the arc. The Skyforce had a stellar first-half performance after shooting 54 percent from the field (23-of-42), including 52.4 from the three-point line (11-of-21). Justin Champagnie paced the Skyforce after pouring in 21 of his 31 points in the first half on 8-of-13 shooting from the field, including 5-of-8 from the three-point line to help the Skyforce edge out a 13-point lead at the halfway mark (69-56). Ignite cut its deficit to nine points early in the frame until the Skyforce pulled away and expanded its lead by 29 points, the largest of the game, later in the fame en route to taking a 105-80 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Ignite couldn't overcome its disadvantage and dropped its fourth consecutive game to start the regular season.
