Arizona Rattlers News Release
PHOENIX - Following the Arizona Rattlers' dominant 50-28 victory over the Duke City Gladiators on Saturday, the IFL has named Rattlers defensive back Kyree Woods the IFL Defensive Player of the Week and fellow defensive back Davontae Merriweather the IFL Special Teams Player of the Week.
Woods helped the Rattlers shutout the Gladiators in the second half of Saturday's contest, which Arizona led 29-28 at halftime. His six tackle performance included half a tackle-for-loss and three pass breakups.
Merriweather helped the Rattlers respond to Duke City's quick 6-0 start to the game by returning a squib kick by the Gladiators 12 yards for a touchdown to help put Arizona up 7-6 in the game.
