IFL Announces Week Two Players of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week 2 of the 2022 season. Sioux Falls Storm Quarterback, Taz Wilson took Offensive Player of the Week. Arizona Defensive Back, Kyree Woods earned Defensive Player of the Week. Arizona also took Special Teams Player of the Week with Davontae Merriweather earning that honor.
Taz Wilson - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Sioux Falls Storm offense was operating in high gear this past weekend as they traveled North to visit the Bismarck Bucks. The Storm put up 222 total yards of offense while tallying 38 points. Quarterback, Taz Wilson, shined in the outing. Wilson completed 8 of 14 passes for 187 yards and four touchdowns. His night included completions of 28 yards, 35 yards and a 42-yard bomb to Wideout, Carlos Thompson, Jr.
Kyree Woods - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Arizona Defensive Back, Kyree Woods led a solid defensive effort from the Arizona Rattlers as they hosted the Duke City Gladiators. The Rattlers held the Gladiators to 28 total points and shut them out completely in the second half. Davontae Merriweather and Brandon Ezell both stood out as well, but Woods ended the night with six tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss and three pass break-ups.

The Arizona Rattlers lead the Duke City Gladiators by a score of 29 to 28 at halftime. Two quarters later the game ended with a 50 to 28 Rattlers lead. Halftime adjustments, superb defense and stellar special teams play helped the Rattlers control the second half. The first half saw Duke City jump out to an early 6-0 lead. Merriweather changed that on the following kickoff. He caught a squib kick off the ground at the Duke City 12 yard line, slid between three tacklers and just like that, evened the score and completed a momentum swing.
Week Three starts on Saturday with the Frisco Fighters taking on the Duke City Gladiators. Then the weekend continues on Sunday and Monday, catch every game on the IFL's YouTube Channel.
