Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho¾Qwest Arena announced today that the NBA Development League's Idaho Stampede has signed an agreement to extend its building lease through the 2010-2011 season. The Stampede signed an original deal in 2005 for three seasons; the new deal extends that lease for an additional three years.

"This agreement guarantees at least 24 events each year and is great for our building, great for our sponsors and great for downtown business," said Qwest Arena president John Cunningham. "We're thrilled to have the Idaho Stampede as part of our family of sports teams in the area's premier professional sports facility."

Idaho Stampede Managing Investor Bill Illet said, "The Idaho Stampede is pleased to continue our relationship with Qwest Arena and the other professional sports teams in the building, and look forward to many years of success. Qwest Arena has been a great partner as we have built the downtown presence of our team."

The Stampede, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, tip off its home opener on Friday night at 7:10 pm.

Playing its first season in the NBA D-League, the Stampede captured the Western Conference in 2006-07.

Boise will be the host city for the 2008 NBA D-League Showcase. The Showcase is a four-day basketball extravaganza in January, where all of the teams in the NBA D-League will compete at Qwest Arena in front of NBA general managers and scouts.
