Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders were outscored 30-17 in the final quarter, as they fell to the Idaho Stampede Thursday night at STAPLES Center, 118-111.

Los Angeles lost their first game of the season dropping their record to 1-1, while Idaho (2-1) used a 12-2 run to start the fourth quarter to get back over .500 on the season.

"We could have defended better, particularly around the basket. I thought with our interior defense, they got too many easy baskets on us," said D-Fenders Head Coach Dan Panaggio. "We talked about it throughout the game, to make everything as difficult as possible, but they got too much easy stuff"

Los Angeles was led by forward Sean Banks' 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Center Jelani McCoy also provided defensive help with 10 rebounds and a game high five blocks. Coming off the D-Fenders bench was guard Cecil Brown, chipping in with 15 and 6 rebounds.

"I know I can score, but I think I could have done more to help put my team in a position to win. Without the win, it doesn't matter how much I score." said Banks.

Reigning D-League MVP Randy Livingston nearly recorded a triple-double, tallying 20 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Providing the scoring in the paint was Lance Allred with 23 and 14 boards. Idaho controlled the boards, and finished the night with a 48-33 advantage.

The D-Fenders will host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Thursday, November 29th at STAPLES Center with a 3:30pm tip-off. Having a Lakers ticket for a STAPLES Center home game is also your ticket to a lower level seat for the D-Fenders game that same day. For ticket information call (310) 426-6031. Idaho will head home to face-off with the Dakota Wizards in their home opener on Friday night.
