
Idaho Falls Lights up Orem at Plate in 15-11 Win

OREM - The Owlz could not contain Idaho Falls at plate on Tuesday night as the Chukars beat Orem 15-11.
The Chukars didn't waste time, opening the game up by scoring two runs in the first inning. Chase Vallot hit a double to score Offerman Collado and Reed Rohlman. Orem got quick three outs in the bottom of the first to trail the Chukars 2-0 going into the second inning.
Idaho Falls kept the scoring going into the second inning, as Hunter Strong scored off a Julio Gonzalez triple and Gonzalez scored from a Tyler James single.
The Chukars grew their lead in the fourth by grabbing another six runs. Strong and Andres Martin both scored from a Livan Soto throwing error. Then Gonzalez and James scored off a Rohlman fly ball single. Collado scored from a sacrifice fly and Rohlmn scored from a Vallot double to center field to give the Chukars a 10-0 lead.
The Owlz got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth when Tim Millard blasted a ball to left field. The ball bounced off the top of the fence allowing Millard to get to second and Kevin Maitan to score.
The lead went up to thirteen in the top of the fifth after Idaho Falls scored four more runs. Orem's Mario Sanjur hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth leaving the score at 14-3 after five innings.
Orem went on a major rally in the bottom of the sixth, rattling off six runs. Nonie Williams scored off of a Francisco Del Valle double. Then Tim Millard and Del Valle scored from a Kiki Menendez double. Menendez scored from a Mario Sanjur single, and lastly Johan Sala hit a two-run homer to score Sanjur.
The Chukars scored one run in the eighth inning and the Owlz scored two. Soto scored off a sacrifice fly and Maitan hit an RBI single to score Sala. The Chukars led 15-11 after eight innings. Orem and Idaho Falls didn't score again after the eighth inning.
The Owlz will finish their homestand tomorrow against Idaho Falls. The game will be at 7:05 p.m at the Home of the Owlz. After tomorrow's game, the Owlz will be on the road and on all-star break until August 9, when they take on the Missoula Osprey.
