Evansville IceMen News Release
EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, are proud to partner with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for a Pink the Rink weekend at the Ford Center. Evansville will join the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help the fight against breast cancer during the IceMen home games against Gwinnett on Friday Jan. 30, and Saturday Jan. 31.
You have seen it across the league and now it is here in Evansville! Help us Pink the Rink and support Susan G Komen by visiting the sales table (at Friday's game) or the IceMen office from 9a.m. to 5p.m. through Friday to purchase your "Piece of Ice."
With a $5.00 donation to Susan G Komen, fans will be able to paint the name of a loved one affected by cancer on ice AFTER the game on Friday January 30th. These names will stay on the playing surface throughout the Pink the Rink game on Saturday January 31st.
All proceeds from the ice painting will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and help the fight against breast cancer. Studies show that one-in-eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.
In addition to the pink painted rink, the first 5,000 fans attending Saturday's game will receive a free pink rally towel, courtesy of Deaconess Breast Services, proud partner of the Evansville IceMen. Deaconess Breast Services has also provided nail files for the first 1,000 fans through the doors of the Ford Center.
