IceGators Shutout Sea Wolves, 3-0

Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, Miss. â The Louisiana IceGators took both games of a home and home encounter with the Mississippi Sea Wolves, capping it off by posting a 3-0 shutout at the Wolves Den.
Louisiana outshot Mississippi in the scoreless opening period, 13-4. Both teams had chances. IceGators' Daniel Goneau fired a shot from the left circle, only to be robbed by the left glove of Greg Gardner. Sea Wolves' John Evangelista clanked a shot off the post.
Mississippi (13-8-2) got themselves into penalty trouble in the second. Louisiana's Shawn McNeil wired a right circle shot past Gardner on the power play. McNeil's 15th of the season, made it 1-0 for the Gators.
Louisiana (14-5-3) tallied again just 58 seconds later. Kenny Corupe carried the puck inside the Sea Wolves zone. He skated to the right wing corner and threw the puck at the net, the sharp angle shot eluded Gardner, giving the IceGators a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.
The Sea Wolves tried to get their offense in gear in the third. Cody Bowtell got behind the Gators defense, and snapped a shot from the slot, but Frederic Cloutier robbed him with the right glove.
Cloutier would stop 25 shots, earning his first shutout of the season and improving his record to 10-3-3.
Bruce Richardson completed the scoring for Louisiana, depositing a centering pass from Goneau.
Gardner stopped 40 of 43 shots, dropping his record to 11-6-2.
Mississippi failed to convert on the power play, going 0 for 8. Louisiana tallied on 1 of 7 chances with the man advantage.
