Louisiana IceGators News Release
Pensacola, Florida--Riley Gill stopped 39 Pensacola IceFlyer shots to preserve a 2-0 shutout victory for the Louisiana IceGators. The IceGators, thanks to Marc-André Carre and Kirk Byczynski, jumped out to the lead before the first intermission. The IceGator defense and penalty kill shut down the Pensacola offense, which outshot Louisiana 25-9 in the final 40 minutes of play.
The IceGators (11-4-1) continue their weekend road trip Saturday by traveling to Columbus, Georgia, to take on the Cottonmouths. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 P. M. EST.
"That was a solid character win," said IceGators Head Coach Kevin Kaminski after the game. "The guys were hungry right out of the gate. The boys played a solid, greasy, and relentless road game. When we had breakdowns, Gill was there to make some stellar saves. We played a smart, disciplined game and got the job done."
