IceDogs Trade Sisca to Guelph
August 7, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the Niagara IceDogs have traded Centre Mathew Sisca to the Guelph Storm in exchange for Kitchener's 2nd Round pick in 2010 and Left Winger Dylan Wood.
The 6'0", 185lbs. Wood spent last season with the Guelph Dominators Junior B team, racking up 54 points in 48 games.
"In Wood, we get a hard working power forward, who can put up some numbers. I mean he is a point a game player" said Brown of his newest acquistion "He also is only a year removed from being a part of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens team that won the OHL Cup in 2008, so he knows what it takes to win."
While Brown was very happy with the addition of the 2nd Round pick and the 17-year old Wood, it did come at some expense in the loss of Sisca.
"Mathew improved significantly between his first and second seasons here and I was happy with the strides he made last season." said Brown.
"I want to thank Mathew for his contribution to the IceDogs organization both on and off the ice over the past two seasons and I wish him the best of luck in Guelph."
