IceDogs Top Attack in Goal-Filled Affair

The Niagara IceDogs beat the Owen Sound Attack 8-7 in a wild game Thursday night at the Meridian Centre.

The teams exchanged a pair of goals in the first period. Jacob Busch and Santino Centorame scored for the Attack, while Graham Knott and Anthony DiFruscia scored for the IceDogs.

Jeffrey Gilligan gave the Attack a 3-2 lead midway through the middle frame, before DiFruscia tied it up with his second of the night.

Josh Ho-Sang kicked off a wild third period with a goal at 4:24. Ryan Mantha added another one less than 20 seconds later to give the IceDogs a 5-3 lead. Zach Nastasiuk brought the Attack within one before Jordan Maletta scored his eighth of the season. Centorame and Kyle Platzer tied it up at 6-6. The goals didn't stop there. Ho-Sang scored his second of the night with two minutes left to give the IceDogs the lead, before Centorame completed the hat-trick to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Brendan Perlini scored his sixth goal in seven games 3:54 into the overtime period to give the IceDogs the win.

The Dogs are back at it tomorrow night when they head to Erie to take on the Otters.
