Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs swept their Eastern Conference Semifinal over the Brampton Battalion with a 3-1 win in Brampton Thursday night!

The first period saw the IceDogs get out to just the start they were looking for as a Brock Beukeboom point shot found its way past Matej Machovsky to give Niagara a 1-0 lead midway through the first. Andrew Agozzino would then find some open space in the slot and make no mistake firing home the IceDogs second of the period to make it 2-0 after one. Shots in the period favoured Niagara 10-9.

The second period would see a strong performance out of both goaltenders and it looked like the frame would be scoreless until Brampton would find the scoreboard with a powerplay marker late in the period to make it 2-1 after 40.

The third period would see the IceDogs pick up a key goal early as Tom Kuhnhackl stayed hot, tipping one home at the side of the net to extend the Niagara lead to two again at 3-1.

Visentin was spectacular in the victory, stopping 34 shots for the win.

With the win, the IceDogs advance to their second consecutive Eastern Conference Final, where they will take on either the Barrie Colts or Ottawa 67's. Stay tuned to niagaraicedogs.net for series schedule and ticket on sale information when it becomes available!
