IceDogs Comeback to Win Game Two, 5-3

The Niagara IceDogs defeated the Ottawa 67's with a come from behind 5-3 victory Saturday night to take a 2-0 series lead.
It was clear in the early goings of the game that both teams were playing for keeps. The first period was as fast paced as ever with numerous huge hits coming from both sides. The highlight of it all being when an Anthony DiFruscia sent himself and 67's defenceman Evan de Haan hurtling over the boards and into the Dogs' bench. Ottawa was able to take the early lead in the game however and lead 2-0 after the first. The shots on goal were all even at 14 each in the frame.
The IceDogs came out in the second determined to even up the score. They only allowed four shots on goal to the 67's in the period, while firing off ten of their own. Brendan Perlini was able to cut the 67's lead in half when he flew down the ice and sent a beautifully placed wrist shot past Ottawa goaltender Leo Lazarev.
The third period is when the Dogs showed their true perseverance as Pavel Jenys scored just 33 seconds into the third to tie it up at 2-2. Even though the 67's regained their lead the Dogs wouldn't let up as they went on to score three unanswered goals. Paquette tied it up when he buried a rebound, and Josh Ho-Sang would continue his strong play by potting the game winning goal on a breakaway. Brendan Perlini capped off the huge win with an empty netter in the game's final minute.
The IceDogs will now head off to Ottawa for games 3 and 4 of the best of 7 series. Game 3 will be played on Monday at 3:00PM, with game 4 being played on Wednesday at 7:00PM.
