Sudbury, Ont. (Sunday, January 14, 2007) - The Mississauga IceDogs wrapped up their weekend road trip by visiting the Sudbury Wolves this afternoon and were defeated 8-3. The Wolves exploded for six goals in the 2nd period and the IceDogs weren't able to keep pace. As a result, the IceDogs record shifts to 25-15-0-2 on the season.

The Wolves got the game going with the opening two goals, at 6:43 and 17:50 of the 1st period. Nick Foligno provided both tallies and the assists were credited to Justin Donati and Patrick Lusnak.

Jordan Owens cut the lead in half for the IceDogs at 2:18 of the 2nd period when he collected passes from Drew Schiestel and Luca Caputi and fired home a shorthanded shot. However, that seemed to spark the Wolves offence once again as they proceeded to ring off the aforementioned six straight goals. The markers were credited to Donati, Lusnak, Kevin Baker (2) and Matt Dias (2). The assists were provided by Dias, Foligno, Akim Aliu, Jonathan D'Aversa and Marc Staal.

The 3rd period was all IceDogs as Travis Fuller produced a power-play goal at 8:25 and Caputi netted an even-strength tally at 19:16. The assists on these goals went to Owens, Oskar Osala and Stefan Legein. However, that's as close as Mississauga could get.

Andrew Loverock had the start in net for the IceDogs but was replaced by Lucas Lobsinger in the 2nd period. Both netminders combined for 19 stops while counterpart Sebastian Dahm provided 20 saves for the Wolves. Both teams were 1 for 6 on the power-play. The game's three stars were Foligno (1st), Dias (2nd) and Baker (3rd).

The IceDogs now travel to Toronto to battle the St. Michael's Majors on Thursday evening (January 18) at 7:30 p.m. before returning to the Hershey Centre on Friday night to challenge the Barrie Colts at 7:30 p.m.

IceDogs tickets can be purchased by calling the team at 905-502-7788, by contacting Ticketmaster at 416-872-5000 or www.ticketmaster.ca, and by visiting the Hershey Centre box office during regular business hours or prior to puck drop.
