IceCats Announce Exhibition Schedule

Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA- Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations, Larry Pleau, today announced the âCats 2004 exhibition schedule. The current four game slate includes âhome' games on October 2nd and 8th.
The IceCats will begin the preseason at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, hosting the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday, October 2nd. Proceeds from the 7:30 PM faceoff will benefit the Ali Pierce Foundation. The IceCats will skate against the Lock Monsters in Billerica the following afternoon at 4:00 PM.
After a Wednesday, October 6th game in Cromwell, Connecticut against the Hartford Wolf Pack, Worcester will welcome the Albany River Rats on Friday the 8th. The clubs will faceoff at the Hart Center on the campus of Holy Cross at 7:00 PM.
Tickets for both games will be available at the IceCats Team Shop at 105 Commercial Street in downtown Worcester, starting September 1st. Season ticket packages are on sale now at the IceCats offices or by calling 800-830-CATS. The IceCats will play the first home game of the 2004-2005 season at Worcester's Centrum Centre on October 16th. The full regular season schedule with opponents and times is expected to be unveiled tomorrow.
The Ali Pierce games began in 1996 when the avid youth hockey player was fighting to overcome a rare form of liver cancer. Sadly, a month after the 96 preseason games, the 14 year-old Princeton native lost her battle. To honor her memory, raise funds and awareness, the IceCats continue to play a game in her honor.
