IceCaps Drop Marathon Shootout to Sound Tigers

St. John's, NL - Michael McCarron tied the score at two with just 1.1 seconds left in regulation but the IceCaps fell 3-2 to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in a nine-round shootout Sunday at Mile One Centre.

The game was scoreless through two frames with the IceCaps being outshot 26-8 over that span, but Dustin Tokarski was sharp. The veteran netminder made 35 saves in total.

Mark Barberio scored the other IceCaps goal while Joe Whitney and Bracken Kearns replied for Bridgeport.

After a back-and-forth overtime period, the teams traded blows in the shootout until Connor Jones, the ninth shooter, iced it for the Sound Tigers.
