
IceCaps Agree to Terms with Jason King

The Winnipeg Jets, in conjunction with the St. John's IceCaps, are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with forward Jason King on a new AHL contract. As per club policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
King, 30, played in 70 games for the IceCaps last season where he recorded 41 points (22G, 19A) and 34 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 15 Calder Cup Playoff games where he earned four points (2G, 2A) and 13 penalty minutes. King was named the IceCaps 2011-12 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the community.
King previously played three seasons in Germany, most recently with the Hamburg Freezers. Prior to that, the native of Corner Brook, NL played in 59 NHL games with Anaheim and Vancouver and 256 AHL games with Manitoba and Portland.
King has a lengthy history with the Moose/Jets organization and sits fourth on the former AHL team's all-time goal scoring list with 77 goals. During his time with the Moose, King recorded 149 points (77g, 72a) and 77 penalty minutes in 191 games. He also added 14 points (7g, 7a) in 27 Calder Cup Playoff games with Manitoba.
King was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round, 212th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
