
Senators Sign Forward Guillaume Latendresse to a One-Year Contract

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 1, 2012) - The Ottawa Senators announced today the club has signed forward Guillaume Latendresse to a one-year contract.
Latendresse, 25, has spent the last three seasons with the Minnesota Wild. In 2011-12, he scored five goals and added four assists in 16 games. He suffered a concussion in a game in San Jose on Nov. 10 which caused him to miss a total of 61 games. In three seasons with the Wild, he recorded 33 goals and 19 assists in 82 games, while recording 52 penalty minutes. He set a career high with 25 goals during the 2009-10 campaign.
The 6-2, 230-pound, native of Ste-Catherine, Que., began his National Hockey League career with the Montreal Canadiens, where he played three-plus seasons before being acquired by Minnesota in exchange for Benoit Pouliot on Nov. 23, 2009.
In 314 career regular-season NHL games, he has scored 81 goals and added 56 assists for 137 points to go along with 177 penalty minutes. He has recorded one assist in 17 career playoff games. Internationally, Latendresse has represented Canada on two occasions, winning a gold medal at the 2006 World Junior Championship and a silver medal at the 2005 World Under-18 Championship.
Latendresse was Montreal's second-round pick (45th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
