Winnipeg Ice News Release
The Winnipeg ICE erased a 2-0 deficit scoring three goals in a span of 3:21 during the second period en route to a 5-3 victory over the Saskatoon Blades Wednesday at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena.
Zack Ostapchuk, Zach Benson and Connor McClennon supplied the comeback following early goals by Blades forwards Lukas Hansen and Egor Sidorov.
Benson and McClennon also scored in the third period to secure the victory improving Winnipeg's record to 36-6-1.
Jake Chiasson had the other goal as Saskatoon's record drops to 30-12-3-1.
The ICE outshot Saskatoon 48-29.
Daniel Hauser earned the victory while Ethan Chadwick suffered the loss.
Winnipeg went 2/4 on the power play. Saskatoon was 0/1.
The ICE return to action Friday in Brandon for the Battle of Manitoba presented by Taylor McCaffery Lawyers (6:30 on CFRW 1290 AM Radio / 7:00 on WHL Live via CHL TV).
