ICE Take Care of Swift Current 8-2

Connor McClennon and Chase Wheatcroft each scored two goals to lead the Winnipeg ICE to an 8-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos Saturday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena

Jakin Smallwood, Jack Finley, Zach Benson and Mikey Milne also found the back of the net as the ICE improved their record to 31-6-2-1.

Ben Zloty added four assists for Winnipeg who had a 2-1 lead after the first period and 7-2 advantage through 40 minutes.

Connor Hvidston and Eric Van Impe were the lone Broncos to beat winning goaltender Daniel Hauser, who is now 15-1-1 on the season.

The ICE out shot Swift Current 44-21.

Isaac Poulter started in goal for the Broncos allowing seven goals on 18 shots through two periods. Reid Dyck stopped 18 of 19 in the third period.

The ICE now embark on a seven game road trip starting Friday in Calgary.
