ICE Starts Series with Win Over Prince Albert

Forward Connor McClennon picked up right where he left off last season against the Prince Albert Raiders.

After putting up 12 points (six goals and six assists) in seven games, McClennon opened this season's six game series with a pair of goals to lead the Winnipeg ICE to a 6-2 victory Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

Steven Arp also scored twice for the ICE while Aiden Oiring's first WHL goal and Conor Geekie rounded out the attack. 17-year-old Connor Dale finished the night with three assists, his first WHL points.

Ryder Ritchie and Niall Crocker replied for the Raiders (0-2-1).

Prince Albert out shot Winnipeg 28-26. Daniel Hauser earned the win in goal for the ICE (2-0) while Tikhon Chaika suffered the loss for Prince Albert.

The ICE were 0/4 on the power play, the Raiders 1/6.

Winnipeg continues their three-game road trip Friday in Swift Current (7:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290).
