
Ice Pilots announce the hiring of new equipment manager

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, a proud member of the ECHL, announced today (Wednesday) the hiring of Phil Ronnebaum as the team's new Equipment Manager.
Ronnebaum, a native of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, is a graduate of Bemidji State University in 2005 with a bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education.
"Phil comes to us as a highly recommended individual," said Dupont. "He's a team player, and is well aware of the long hours someone in his position has to put in. He should be a great fit for our hockey operations staff."
Ronnebaum was the head Equipment Manager for Bemidji State University, an NCAA Div. I program, for five years. The Beavers were a successful team during those years, winning two CHA Conference Championships, two CHA Tournament titles and two trips to the NCAA tournament.
"I look forward to the opportunity that Pensacola has given me," said Ronnebaum. "I am honored to be affiliated with an organization like Pensacola and look forward to a successful and honorable tenure with the Ice Pilots."
Ronnebaum's responsibilities as Equipment Manager will be to order equipment, sharpening skates, equipment repairs, setting up the dressing rooms for the referees and visiting teams, ensuring all players are packed correctly for road trips, and keeping the working environment clean.
"My years in Bemidji were phenomenal," said Ronnebaum. "I meet a lot of tremendous people, who in which i still speak with and keep in contact with on a weekly basis."
The Pensacola Ice Pilots 2006-2007 season faces off on Friday, October 20 when they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to face the Cyclones at 6:30 pm central time. The road trip continues that weekend with a stop in Johnstown, PA to face the Johnstown Chiefs at 6 pm central time. The first weekend of the season for the Ice Pilots concludes on Sunday, Oct. 22 when they head over to Reading, PA to meet the Royals.
The home opener for the Pensacola Ice Pilots is set for Friday, Oct. 27 at 7:05 pm when the Texas Wildcatters will make their return to The Hanger.
