
Ice Flyers' Roster Sees Some Changes

The Pensacola Ice Flyers are coming off a very successful month of December, with a record of 8-3, and have recently made some changes to the personnel they have on the ice.
Prior to the Ice Flyers' 3 games in 3 nights over the weekend, defenseman Anthony Sarno was signed. The 6'1" 205 pound defenseman comes to the Ice Flyers from Cape Cod of the FHL where he accumulated 7 goals and 17 assists in 18 games.
Then before the first of two homes games versus their I-10 rival, the Surge, the Ice Flyers signed forward Andrew Howes to a 3-game tryout contract. In the 2 games he has played, Howes has already made an impact in the Ice Flyers' lineup. In his first game, he got a Gordie Howe hat trick - a goal, an assist, and a fight in one game. The next night, he followed it up with the game-winning goal.
After stellar performance after stellar performance between the pipes for the Ice Flyers by goaltender Steve Christie, the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL have called him up. He has a 9-2 record with a 2.08 GAA, a .931 SV% and 2 shutouts with the Ice Flyers.
The Ice Flyers have also placed forward Britt Ouellette on waivers. Ouellette had 4 goals and 7 assists in 20 games.
Pensacola hosts Louisiana on Thursday at 7:05 PM, head to Huntsville for the first time this season on Friday, and then return home to face Knoxville on Saturday at 7:05 PM.
