Pensacola, Fla., - Sept. 5, 2012 - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have recently named Evangeline Leventhal as Vice President of Business Operations.

Leventhal is charged with developing the Ice Flyers' front office staff, particularly in the areas of ticket sales and corporate partnership fulfillment. "We are continuing to take steps to strengthen the team's footprint in Northwest Florida," owner Tim Kerr stated. "Evangeline brings a great deal of experience and has had tremendous success in the business of sports with teams at different levels."

Leventhal spent 10 years with the Orlando Magic, during which time her sales team was recognized as the best in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and set many best practices in ticket sales, customer service excellence, and team culture.

Prior to that, she held leadership roles with the Birmingham Bulls of the ECHL, the Madison Monsters in the United Hockey League (UHL), and also with the Birmingham Steeldogs and Columbus Wardogs, both of arenafootball2 (af2). She returned to Pensacola a year ago to help successfully launch the Pensacola Blue Wahoos as VP of Sales.

Leventhal has a prior connection to hockey in Pensacola as she was a season ticket holder for the Pensacola Ice Pilots' inaugural season in 1996-97, and interned with the team for the 1997-98 season.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to play a significant role with the hockey team here in Pensacola, where my career first started 15 years ago," Leventhal commented. Some of my greatest sports memories happened right here at the Civic Center. I consider it a personal mission to help develop a first-class hockey experience to a new range of fans, and assist in bringing back those who haven't been to an Ice Flyers' game in a while."

Leventhal, born in Montreal, Quebec, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida (UWF). "Her appointment best exemplifies what UWF does for our community and professions by providing the most qualified and capable graduates who are productive and eventually in leadership of various businesses and organizations," noted Dr. Charlie Song, Associate Professor and Coordinator of UWF's Sports Management Program.

"She not only has a passion for hockey, but also is skilled in developing creative partnerships for companies looking to benefit from association with the team. She will lead our sales team's efforts to help fill the arena for home games and we are excited about her addition to our staff," said Kerr.
