Ice Flyers Fall 5-2 to the Mississippi RiverKings in Rescheduled Game

PENSACOLA, FL. - The Ice Flyers fell 5-2 to the Mississippi RiverKings in the rescheduled February 17 game. Jessyko Bernard and Charlie Adams scored for the Ice Flyers. The RiverKings' goals were scored by Derek Sutliffe, Matt Harrington, and Dillan Fox. Daniel Tedesco scored twice.

Mississippi dominated the first period, scoring three goals, two of which were unanswered. The first goal came at 5:02 from Derek Sutliffe of the RiverKings. He was assisted by Cody Walsh and Mark Whiteley. 16 seconds later, Daniel Tedesco scored an unassisted goal. Matt Harrington added a third at 10:25, assisted by Brantley Sherwood and Bryan Arneson. Eight seconds later, however, Jessyko Bernard put the Ice Flyers on the board with an unassisted goal. The RiverKings outshot the Ice Flyers 12-8.

The second period was just as eventful, with a combined total of 42 penalty minutes between the two teams. Mississippi added another two goals to their score, with a power play goal from Dillan Fox. Mark Whiteley and Kristaps Bazevics assisted at 11:26. At 15:36, Daniel Tedesco scored his second goal of the night, with assists coming from Brantley Sherwood and Matt Harrington. With two seconds remaining in the period, Charlie Adams, on a pass from Garrett Milan, scored for the Ice Flyers.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the third, with Pensacola having 7 shots, and Mississippi with 13.

The RiverKings outshot the Ice Flyers 35 to 24

There was a total of 27 penalty minutes on 10 penalties for the Ice Flyers, and 60 total penalty minutes between the two teams on 21 penalties.
