Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
Coach Todd Gordon of the Pensacola Ice Flyers has added a couple forwards and released one as his corps looks for redemption on home ice on Friday against the Surge, before they travel to Augusta for Saturday night.
Gordon has signed forward Ryan Salvis, who hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. After 15 games played with the Huntsville Havoc this season, Salvis has tallied 3 goals and 3 assists. Last season, he scored 7 times and added 13 helpers for 20 points in 25 games.
Forward Jason Dolgy has also been signed by Gordon in time for this weekend's contests. Dolgy, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has started the season in the Federal Hockey League. He has scored 6 goals and added 15 assists for 21 points in 13 games. In 29 games with the Augusta RiverHawks last season, Dolgy accumulated 13 points in 29 games.
"Both Ryan and Jason will help increase our production up front," Gordon said. "They have points to prove in this league, and both are eager to contribute and wear the Ice Flyers' jersey."
The Ice Flyers have also released forward Anthony Ciraulo from his 3-game tryout contract.
The Mississippi Surge are in town Friday night for the first time this season. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM. It is also Marine Toys for Tots Night at The Hangar on Friday. Fans are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys to fill the toy donation boxes that will be placed throughout the arena. There will also be a table on the concourse for people to make monetary donations to the Toys for Tots Foundation. Just look for the Marines in their dress blues.
