ICE Fall in Regulation for First Time in More than a Month

Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Denton Mateychuk scored the game winning goal with 22 seconds remaining in the third period to give his team a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg ICE Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

Cole Jordan and Cordel Larson also scored for the Warriors (36-23-3-2).

Tanner Brown had the lone goal for Winnipeg (49-10-3-2). The ICE remain eight points ahead of Edmonton for first place in the WHL's Eastern Conference standings.

The regulation loss is the first one suffered by the ICE since February 26th in Swift Current.

Winnipeg outshot Moose Jaw 38-27. The loss ended ICE goaltender Daniel Hauser's personal 14 game winning streak. Jackson Unger earned the win in net for the Warriors.

The ICE complete their 34 game regular season road schedule with a 24-7-2-1 record.

Next action is Saturday night at 7:00 and Sunday afternoon at 5:00 at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena versus the Medicine Hat Tigers.
