Ice Dogs Have Home-Ice, But Opening Game Will Be Played in Barrie

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced their second round playoff schedule for their Eastern Conference Semi-final Series with the Mississauga Ice Dogs.

Both teams advanced from their first round series. The Colts defeated the Kingston Frontenacs four games to one in round one, and the Ice Dogs finished up their series in seven games last night with a 6-1 home ice victory against the Oshawa Generals.

Ranked third in the Eastern Conference standings, Mississauga will have home-ice advantage in the series, but the opening game will be played tomorrow in Barrie (7:30 p.m.) because the Hershey Centre in Mississauga is being occupied.

These two teams got together six times during the regular season. They tied in their first three meetings, and then Mississauga won 2 out of their last 3 games to take the series with the fourth -seeded Colts.

Sunday April 4- Barrie at Mississauga 6:35 p.m.
Tuesday April 6- Barrie at Mississauga, 7:05 p.m.
Thursday April 8- Mississauga at Barrie, 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for home playoff games are on sale and can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling (705)-739-7666, in person at the box office, or on-line at www.barriecolts.com. Individual game-tickets are priced at $14.50 for the goal-zone, and $15.50 for the central zone. Fans wishing to purchase the entire playoff package for rounds two (2) through four (4) can do so in person at the Molson Centre box office.
