
Ice Blast Weekend Continues Saturday against Erie

Saginaw, MI - The Saginaw Spirit (17-29-1-0) wrap up their 12-game season series against the Erie Otters (18-24-1-2) this evening at The Dow Event Center on the second night of Ice Blast Weekend. Live music from the Which Doctors, Chili Cook-off, and beer sampling (21+) while kick off at 5:30 p.m. in the Budweiser Red Room before the puck drop for tonight's game at 7:05 p.m.
Head-to-Head
After Friday night's 8-1 win for the Spirit, they have taken the advantage in the season series with a 6-4-1-0 record against the Otters. Nine of the previous 11 games had been decided by two goals or less, but in the last two meetings the Spirit have outscored the Otters by 11 goals. With three points last night, Dalton Duhart became the Spirit's top scorer against the Otters this season with four goals and eight assists. For Erie, Elias Cohen's second period power play goal was his sixth tally on the year against the Spirit and brought him to 12 points this season against Saginaw.
Last Time Out
Saginaw: The Spirit scored a season-high, eight goals en route to an 8-1 triumph over the Erie Otters Friday night at The Dow. Buffalo Sabres prospect led the way for the Spirit with two goals and two assists for his fourth, four-point game of the season. Bloom's first period shorthanded goal was his seventh of the season to tie the Spirit single-season record shared by Dylan Sadowy (2014-15) and DJ Busdeker (2019-20). Dalton Duhart and Mitchell Smith each contributed two goals and an assist in the winning effort.
Erie: The Otters are in tough as of late, dropping their last four games and surrendering 24 goals against in that span. Brett Bressette picked up his third assist in the last two games, helping out on the lone Erie goal in the second period from their leading scorer, Elias Cohen. The Otters have now dropped their last three road contests, their last victory coming in Saginaw back on Feb. 5.
