Knoxville Ice Bears News Release
Knoxville, TN - (September 16, 2014) Knoxville Ice Bears announced today that the club has re-signed tough guys Brad Pawlowski and Corey Fulton for the upcoming season; in addition to adding rookie, Tyler Klein to the line-up.
Pawlowski, (6'3", 209 lbs.), is entering his third season with the Knoxville Ice Bears. Since arriving in the middle of 2011-2012 season, the defenseman has established himself within the SPHL one of the toughest players in the league. In addition to his physicality, the Marathon, ON, CAN native has contributed offensively with 10 points (5G, 5A) in 79 career games played.
"I'm coming back for many reasons; the fans, the atmosphere, and the organization. We have a great core of guys returning and I consider Knoxville my 2nd home, " said Pawlowski.
Fulton, (6'3", 201 lbs.), a forward from Mississauga, ON, CAN, is entering his second year with the Ice Bears after splitting the 2013-2014 season with the Mississippi RiverKings. Last season, he played 27 regular season games for the Ice Bears where he accumulated 68 minutes in penalties.
"I am really looking forward to coming back to Knoxville and playing the full season. Knoxville is a classy organization with the best fan support in the SPHL. I'm excited for the season to begin and for the team to do the fans proud. We have unfinished business from last season to rectify, " said Fulton.
"You have to score goals to win games but from time to time hockey teams need the personnel who can initiate or respond to the physical nature of the game. Bringing back Plow & Fults' ensures we'll be able to do that. " said Head Coach Mike Craigen.
Klein, (6'1", 181 lbs.), a rookie forward from Fargo, ND, USA, is joining the Ice Bears for his first full season. During the 2013-2014 season, the Marian University graduate played in the final six games of the season registering 3 points (2G-1A).
"We liked a lot of what we saw from Tyler in March of last season. He's a quick, creative forward who has the ability to get himself open in the scoring area. I have very high expectations for him, as does he, for his full rookie season," said Craigen.
