Ice Bears Release 2016-2017 Season Schedule

KNOXVILLE, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears proudly announce the release of the 2016-2017 regular season schedule. The Knoxville Ice Bears will look to capture their fifth SPHL President's Cup Championship beginning this October for their 15th season of hockey in Knoxville.

The Knoxville Ice Bears will start the new season on the road with one of the two newest members of the SPHL, the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs on Friday, October 21 in Roanoke, VA. The Ice Bears' first home game will be Saturday, October 22 as they host the back half of a home at home with Roanoke.

"I am very happy with this season's schedule" said team President & GM Mike Murray. "Having 24 home Friday/Saturdays out of a 28 Home Game schedule always gives a good chance for great attendance for the season. With the schedule being released seven weeks earlier than last season this will provide families and businesses to lock in the best seats to the best games. In addition to the new schedule, we have made some significant changes to the front office this season which should yield greater promotions and fantastic crowds."

In part of the off season activities, the Knoxville Ice Bears will be hosting Stanley Cup Watch parties at Fieldhouse Social for each game until the Cup is hoisted. Tonight's game 2 will feature trivia contests along with food and beverage specials. The Ice Bears annual charity golf tournament will be hosted Friday at Three Ridges Golf Course with the shotgun start at 9 am. This year's beneficiary will be Children's Hospital.
