
Ice Bears' Players and Staff Offer Support to Area Firefighters

Knoxville Ice Bears News Release
Knoxville, TN ( November 29, 2016) - The Knoxville Ice Bears are raising money and collecting donations in an effort to assist those being evacuated from Gatlinburg, as well as the first responders who are on the front lines fighting the fires.
Players from the Knoxville Ice Bears will be at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum from 1 pm to 5pm today to help load a truck with donations and sign autographs. They will also be there promoting the online bid for an authentic player promotional jersey - these jerseys are not available for sale and this one will the only one available to the public. The 100% of the proceeds from the bid will be used to buy water and food for the firefighters on the front lines of this disaster.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors in Gatlinburg today as they look to recover from the intense overnight firestorm that has displaced many families," President and General Manager Mike Murray expressed. "On behalf of the entire Knoxville Ice Bears organization, we will be doing our part by placing a jersey on line for bid with 100% of proceeds to go towards the relief effort. In addition, we will be donating bottled water and teddy bears to the families in need, with additional teddy bears expected to be donated from our upcoming teddy bear toss game."
Those who would like to bid on the Stuart Promo Jersey can do so on the GoFundMe account located on the Knoxville Ice Bears website - www.knoxvilleicebears.com. Information is also available on the team's Facebook and Twitter accounts for the next 24 hours. Supplies most needed most are water, nonperishable food, clothes, hygiene products and pet supplies. Those who donate will also be entered into the jersey raffle, and the winner will be will announced via Facebook Live tomorrow at noon.
