ICE and Hitmen Conclude Season Series
February 27, 2020 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Winnipeg Ice News Release
The ICE and Hitmen will meet for the fourth and final time this season. The ICE won the first meeting in Winnipeg in mid January by a score of 5-2. The Hitmen have responded in the next two as they have picked up back to back wins to take a 2-1 series lead. Today's game will be another afternoon matinee game for the ICE as it gets underway at 12:00PM CT.
The ICE come into this one on a bit of skid losing back to back games to the Eastern Conference and Central Division leading Edmonton Oil Kings. Edmonton picked up wins in Winnipeg last week and most recently on Tuesday afternoon in Edmonton.
The ICE look to right the ship this afternoon and keep pace with the Prince Albert Raiders in the East Division as the race for first place is starting to heat up. Currently the Raiders hold the position by four points.

LAST GAME - 10-1 LOSS VS EDMONTON: The Oil Kings came out a hot start jumping out to an early 1-0 lead. They would add three more before the period was over to take a 4-0 lead into the first intermission. Edmonton went 1/1 on the power play while the ICE went 0/1 in the first period.
Gage Alexander entered the game to start the second period in relief of Liam Hughes and it seemed to give the ICE a spark. The ICE got one early in the second as James Form put a shot from the slot passed the Oil Kings net minder. Michael Milne and Anson McMaster picked up the helpers on that one but it was the Oil Kings who answered. The Oil Kings scored the next three goals in the second to take a 7-1 lead into the final period.
The ICE would come out strong in the third period but couldn't get anything going. Edmonton would get three more in the third and take this afternoon matinee.
