Tulsa Oilers News Release
GLENDALE, AZ - The Central Hockey League announced on Tuesday that Oilers goaltender Ian Keserich has been named the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week for the period ending November 11.
Keserich, in his third season with the Oilers, went 2-0 last week and has won four of his seven decisions this season. On Saturday night in Fort Worth, Keserich turned aside 16 shots in a 1-0 overtime victory for Tulsa. It was the fourth time in the last two seasons that Keserich has blanked the Brahmas and it was the ninth shutout of his six-year pro career. The 26-year old netminder followed up Saturday's performance with 32 saves in the Oilers 3-2 Sunday win over Missouri. After allowing two goals in the first period, Keserich slammed the door on the Mavs over the final 40 minutes and made 14 of his stops in the third period to preserve the Oilers one-goal lead.
Keserich has been between the pipes for four of Tulsa's six victories this season and boasts the third highest save total (187) in the league.
A Cleveland, Ohio native, Keserich was a 2004 draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche and was twice named CHL Goalie of the Week during the 2010-11 season.
