Hygiene kits for Haiti Collected at Rangers Game

It's game on Rangers fans! The Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), Operation Cooperation and the Kitchener Rangers are asking fans to donate items for hygiene kits for Haiti at the Rangers versus 67's game this Friday, February 26th. Doors open at 6:30pm.

For the month of February, the MCC has been collecting donations of personal hygiene items, cotton sheets and towels. Their national goal is to collect and distribute 20,000 relief kits to the thousands of Haitians left homeless and living outside.

"The collection at the Rangers game is the final event in our month-long drive," said Dan Driedger Resource Development Director of the MCC. "The community's generosity has been overwhelming and this final collection at the Rangers game will put us over the top."

Here's what to bring:

One complete kit contains (but multiples of any of the items are also accepted):

Please limit your generosity to the hygiene items listed below. All items must be new and in original packaging.

- 4 large bars bath soap (leave in wrapping)

- 1 plastic bottle of shampoo (380 - 710 ml., place bottle in a re-sealable plastic bag)

- 4 large bars of laundry soap (if available, Linda Soap, Sunlight or Zote brands preferred)

- 1 squeeze-tube toothpaste (minimum 130 ml. leave in box)

- 4 adult-sized toothbrushes (in original packaging)

- 1 fingernail clipper

- 2 wide tooth combs (15-20 cm)

- 1 box of adhesive bandages (minimum 40, assorted)

- 1 package of sanitary napkins (18-24 thin maxi)

- 4 bath towels ( medium weight, dark or bright colours)

Volunteers will happily collect donations from Rangers fans as they enter the Auditorium on Friday night.
