Hurricanes Recall Brody Sutter from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Brody Sutter from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Sutter is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Hurricanes take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

Sutter, 24, has appeared in three NHL games for the Hurricanes this season. The Viking, Alb., native has totaled 21 points (11g, 10a) and 37 penalty minutes in 63 games on the AHL level with the Checkers this season. The Hurricanes' seventh-round pick (193rd overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Sutter (6'5", 203 lbs.) has played seven career NHL games with Carolina. He has totaled 35 goals and 45 assists (80 points) in 204 career games with the Checkers.

The Hurricanes take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Nationwide Arena (7 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas, Hurricanes Radio Network) before returning to Raleigh for back-to-back games at PNC Arena on Saturday and Sunday.
