Forward Caleb Herbert Reassigned to Stingrays

HERSHEY, Pa. -The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Caleb Herbert has been reassignedto the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays. The announcement was made by Bears President/General Manager DougYingst.

Herbert, 24, returns to South Carolina where he has posted sixpoints (five goals, one assist) in eight contests. With the Bears, Herbert has dressed in 26 games and recordedtwo assists.

The 6-0, 195-pound native of Bloomington, Minnesota helped theStingrays to within one game of the Kelly Cup title last season. He notched 14 points (three goals, 11assists) in the Stingrays' 27-game playoff run, after a regular season thatfeatured 19 goals and nine assists for 28 points in 42 contests. He has a total of 34 points (24 goals,10 assists) in 50 ECHL contests, all with South Carolina, and seven points (twogoals, five assists) in 45 AHL games with Hershey.

Herbert played three years of college hockey at the University ofMinnesota-Duluth prior to turning pro, where he amassed 89 points (32 goals, 57assists) in 112 games. He wasselected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (142ndoverall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
