Hurricanes Assign Five More To Albany

RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has assigned five players to the Albany River Rats.

Forwards Drayson Bowman and Steven Goertzen, defensemen Bryan Rodney and Brett Carson, and goaltender Justin Peters will all be in attendance when Albany opens its 2009 training camp on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 1:00 p.m. at RPI's Houston Field House.

A complete list of training camp dates, times and locations is forthcoming.

The River Rats are hosting the first "Rats Fest" prior to their September 26th pre-season home game against the Adirondack Phantoms. Entry to both the 2:00 p.m. festival and the 5:00 p.m. game is free to the general public.
