SAUGET, Ill. - Michael Hur hit two home runs on Tuesday as the Rockford RiverHawks beat the Gateway Grizzlies, 7-5, at GCS Ballpark.

Hur hit a two-run homer to left-center field in the first inning to break a scoreless tie and added a two-run homer just inside the foul pole in left in the third inning. Hur hit three home runs in the three-game series. The designated hitter, who has two multi-homer games this season, has 13 home runs, two short of the team record set by manager Rich Austin in 2004, when he won the Frontier League Player of the Year Award.

Rockford starter Cody Hallahan pitched seven innings for the win. He gave up three runs on 10 hits, struck out four and walked three. Hallahan (4-5) has won three straight decisions.

Rockford closer Garrett Granitz came on with two outs in the eighth and retired Chris McClendon on a broken-bat comebacker to strand a runner at third. Gateway left 12 on base, seven in scoring position.

Granitz pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up his fifth save.

Gateway starter Paul Tremlin was knocked out in the fourth inning. Tremlin (4-1) gave up six runs on nine hits and took the loss.

Rockford salvaged the finale of a three-game series and snapped Gateway's season-best, seven-game win streak.

The RiverHawks are home for a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader against Normal on Wednesday. Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet sponsors a youth clinic at 5 p.m. It's also Dog Days of Summer, when four-legged fans are welcome in the park.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league in its 20th season. Games are broadcast on WNTA-FM (100.5) Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
