Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL. (January 19, 2014) - The Pensacola Ice Flyers took on the Huntsville Havoc for the second time in 24 hours. The Ice Flyers couldn't solve Jesse Kallechy tonight and fell 3-0.
Just like last night, the Havoc held the 1-0 lead after the first. Leland Fidler fired a nice shot that found its way past Peter Di Salvo 10:50 into the game. Huntsville outshot the Ice Flyers 11-9 in the first 20 minutes.
Huntsville's lead stretched to 2-0 when Mike Gurtler picked up a power play goal just 3:35 into the second. Huntsville heavily outshot Pensacola 14-6 in the second for a 35-15 shot lead through 40 minutes.
The Havoc's lead went to 3-0 when Josh Harris was awarded a goal. It appeared to go in off of his glove but the officials determined it to be legal and allowed the goal. The Ice Flyers outshot the Havoc 10-8 in the third but it wasn't enough as Huntsville did a great job limiting Pensacola's chances.
Di Salvo stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced from Huntsville tonight.
The Ice Flyers' next game is Friday, Jan. 24 at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Mississippi Surge inside the Pensacola Bay Center for the second Faith & Family Night of the season. Interested church groups can call the office at 466 3111 or email info@pensacolaiceflyers.com to reserve their seats.
