HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc got powerplay goals from Bill Monkman and Chris Peach as they beat the Columbus Cottonmouths 3-2 for the fourth time this season.
Steve Hynes scored the first goal for Huntsville just 6:29 into the game on and even-strength goal. James Patterson and Peach had assists.
Columbus tied the game at 1-1 with 4:07 left in the first when Orrin Hergott found the back of the net.
Monkman added his goal with :12 left in the first period and Peach scored 6:52 into the second period.
Columbus pulled to 3-2 on a powerplay goal by Hergott, but that's as close as they would get.
Matt Carmichael stopped 26 shots snapping a three-game losing streak. Ryan Senft spelled Chad Rycroft late in the first period and suffered the loss despite only giving up one goal.
