Hub City Spartanburgers News Release

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Hub City (23-18) and Rome (22-18) never got off the ground Friday night, hampered by showers that intensified in the late afternoon into the evening. The scheduled contest was officially postponed around an hour after the scheduled first pitch; the game will be made up Saturday as part of a doubleheader.

Fans can redeem Friday's ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any other Spartanburgers home game in 2026. Fans with tickets for Saturday's game can attend both 7-inning games.

On Saturday, the Spartanburgers will play two seven-inning games. Gates will open at 2:00 p.m ET. The first game between the 'Burgers and Emperors will start at 3 p.m. and the second game will start approximately 45 minutes after the end of game one. Projected starters for both games are TBD.

Hub City will still showcase its alternate identites Saturday, beginning with the Spartanburg Pastimes in game one. The 'Burgers will don the Spartan Regiment uniforms, presented by Spartanburg Community College, in game two. Postgame, the planned Battle of Cedar Springs reenactment presented by SC250, will still take place 30 minutes after the game's final out.

Sunday, the Spartanburgers celebrate Memorial Day as the Spartan Regiment with a special 6:35 p.m. ET first pitch, and postgame Super Fireworks brought to Fifth Third Park by Spartanburg Community College. Hub City leads Rome in the series 2-1.
